Hello, Readers! Thank you for visiting.
I started a blog called The Year of Living Englishly in 2010 when I and my two daughters moved from Boston, Massachusetts, to Cambridge, England. For me it was a homecoming, since I am originally English, despite many years in the US.
We had a wonderful and interesting (and not always in the good sense!) year, with my girls in Cambridge schools, many visits to our multitudes of aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Peak District of Derbyshire, and my older daughter hurdling in the British National Track and Field competition in Birmingham with her Cambridge track team.
We returned to Boston after a year because my older daughter wanted to attend a US college, but have gone back every year to both Cambridge and my parents’ village in the Peak District of Derbyshire.
This separate blog is about our time in the US, and some comparisons between the US and the UK.
To read my first blog, please go to theyearoflivingenglishly.wordpress.com. See you there, and thanks for reading this blog about our lives in Boston.
